A downloadable game

Rude Dew is an arcade-style alternative controller game originally created for Indie City Allstars 2024 game jam showcase at Night City.

How to make Rude Dew

Your job is to juice fruits birthed by a bizarre creature into a drainpipe used to collect Rude Dew, a distinctly refreshing beverage.

But be careful: Juicier fruit can explode if squeezed too hard, costing the player precious juice. Some objects the creature spawns contain liquids that don't jive with the patented flavor of Rude Dew that consumers have come to expect. Don't juice them! Other objects may be harmful for the creature to crush...

After the time limit, face off with a boss fruit challenging you to squeeze as hard as possible for the high score.

How much Rude Dew can you produce before time expires?

"Most first-time drinkers ... reject our [beverage]. Its strong, sharp taste is not for everyone. Our [beverage] is rugged and unrelenting (even brutal) to the palate. During almost 60 years of American distribution, we found only 1 out of 49 men will drink [our beverage]. ...our founder was apt to say, '[My beverage] is produced for that unique group of drinkers who disdain light flavor...' It is not possible to forget our two-fisted [beverage]. The taste just lingers and lasts - seemingly forever. The first shot is hard to swallow! PERSERVERE [sic]. Make it past two 'shock-glasses' and with the third you could be ours...forever" - 2005 blogger.com post allegedly documenting the label of an infamous Chicago drink

[UPDATE]

We have disabled new downloads of Rude Dew as the home gamepad implementation did not do the alternate controller experience justice. Honestly, we just released it on itch so we could formally enter the game jam. Perhaps one day we will spend more time on a home version.

You can play at home with a gamepad that has an analog right shoulder trigger (R2). But this is not ideal. The game is designed for a custom smash / squeeze-based pressure sensitive controller.
